AJK highways department issues advisory in wake of rains, snowfall.
MUZAFFARABAD -- Department of Highways Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday advised public to be cautious and careful in road traveling due to recent spell of torrential rains and snow that have blocked and affected major roads and created havoc in hilly areas.
Highways department in its advisory said, the roads links between Shardah to Kail, Neeli Lumniyan to Moji Leepa, Hajipir to Bedi Khawaja Bandi (adjacent to Raza camp) and Lusdana road of Bagh district are covered with heavy snow resulting in disconnection of these areas.
Highway authority informed that bulldozers and other necessary machinery have been engaged to open road link between Abbaspur and Mehmood Ghali while other highways have been cleared for all kinds of traffic.
Emergency contact numbers of district and tehsil headquarters have also been issued for public information regarding weather conditions and to inform them about needed preventive measures to avoid mishaps.
