AJK government files reference of mega corruption case PMU in Accountability Bureau Court.
MUZAFFARABAD -- The Government of Azad Kashmir has filed reference of mega corruption case PMU amounting Rs 7 billion in AJK Accountability bureau court No-2 Mirpur on Monday regarding the greater water Supply and Sewerage scheme Mirpur against three arrested accused including Farid Ahmed S/O Fateh Mohammad Deputy Director(DDO), Mubarak Ali S/O Abdul Rashid Assistant Engineer PMU Mirpur and Mohammad Afzal S/O Mohammad Asghar Sub-Engineer PMU greater Water Supply Mirpur allegedly involving in financial embezzlements, corruption and misuse of authority.
According to AJK Accountability sources, the Chairman AJK Accountability Bureau Raja Mohammad Aslam Khan while appraising the reference filed by the government, has directed to investigating section to take prompt and stern action against the accused involving corruption scandal of billions.
The investigation section following the orders arrested all the three accused started investigation and while impeaching the accused, filed their reference in the Accountability court No-2.
Besides, the investigation has been extended against other allegedly involvement in the mega corruption scandal to ascertain the network.
As per the details, the In-charge investigation team of Accountability Bureau Gohar ur Rehman while following the directives of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) AJK Accountability Sardar Rashid Naeem after carrying out rigorous investigation proved over one billion rupees embezzlement of the national exchequer from the above three accused and case was formally filed against the accused.
The Chairman AJK Accountability Bureau directed the bureau officials to utilize their professional expertise and ensure tightening the siege against other offenders involving in corruption and embezzlement.
While appreciating the technical and professional expertise of investigation team, the Chairman Accountability Bureau directed the team to carry on their profession work indiscriminately to discourage this menace from AJK.
