AJAY NAMES CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

 DELAVAN, Wis., Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Ajay Sorts, Inc. (NASDAQ: AJAY) today announced that it has named Clarence H. Yahn to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company's wholly owned operating subsidiary, Ajay Leisure Products, Inc. Mr. Yahn will report to a newly created Office of the Chairman, consisting of Mr. Yahn, L. Dean Cassell, who will continue as President and Chief Executive Officer of Ajay Leisure and Thomas W. Itin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of parent company Ajay Sports, Inc.
 The addition of Mr. Yahn to the management team at Ajay will allow Mr. Cassell to continue to focus his efforts on product development, sales, and marketing for Ajay. Mr. Yahn will initially concentrate on the manufacturing, operations and strategic planning sides of Ajay's business. Mr. Itin will coordinate the corporate finance efforts for the company.
 Chuck Yahn comes to Ajay Leisure from his most recent position as President and CEO of Melnor, Inc., a former Leach McMicking & Co. holding, and a $43 million manufacturer of watering devices, hose storage systems and sprayers. Prior to that he was President and CEO of Gold Medal Inc., a $45 million manufacturer of leisure time furniture. In the mid 1980s, he was President and CEO of Aircap Industries Corporation, a $140 million manufacturer of lawn and garden equipment that was spun off from Sunbeam Corporation to Wesray Capital in 1983. Before that Mr. Yahn served in various divisions of the Sunbeam Corporation, including an extended assignment in their Mexican operations.
 Mr. Yahn is a native of Wisconsin and received a BS degree from the University of Wisconsin. He holds a graduate degree and is currently a Trustee of the American Graduate School of International Management (the Thunderbird School) and is on the boards of a number of industry associations related to his past positions. He is also a member of Mensa.
 Thomas W. Itin, Chairman and CEO of Ajay Sports commented, "I am extremely pleased to have Chuck Yahn as our COO in Delavan.
