AIRLINK ENDS BIDDING FOR PCS LICENSES

ATLANTA, March 7 /PRNewswire/ -- AirGate, LLC today announced that the shareholders of AirLink, LLC have decided not to continue participating in the "C Block" auctions for 2 Ghz personal communications service licenses being held by the Federal Communications Commission. AirGate LLC, BCE Mobile Communications and Bell Canada International, Inc. formed AirLink to acquire licenses and build a network to provide personal communications services. The company cited high bid prices as the reason for the decision.

AirLink will pursue other wireless opportunities through consolidation and resale and by seeking out strategic alliances with successful "A, B, & C Block" licensees. A company spokesperson stated, "In today's expanding telecommunications environment, there are tremendous opportunities for strategic partnering within the wireless marketplace."
