 AIRLINE PASSENGER TRAFFIC RISES 1.3 PERCENT IN APRIL
 WASHINGTON, May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Airline passenger traffic


increased 1.3 percent in April compared with the same month last year, the Air Transport Association reported today. Traffic for the first four months of 1992 rose 6.5 percent from 1991 but is still 0.9 percent below 1990 traffic levels.
 In domestic service, traffic decreased 4.8 percent in April, while available seat miles were up 1.3 percent. The passenger load factor averaged 58.5 percent, down from 62.3 percent for April 1991. Passenger enplanements increased 5.6 percent to 31.6 million.
 In international service, traffic in April was up 23.0 percent. Available seat miles increased 27.4 percent. The load factor averaged 64.7 percent, compared with 67.0 percent for April 1991. In April 1992, 3.2 million passengers were enplaned, up 12.9 percent from the same period last year.
 For the first four months of 1992, domestic traffic decreased 1.1 percent, and available seat miles were up 1.9 percent. The load factor decreased to 57.3 percent. Passenger enplanements were down 2.1 percent, with 123.1 million passengers.
 International traffic for the first four months of 1992 was up 34.1 percent. The available seat miles increased 22.7 percent, and the load factor averaged 65.3 percent, up from 59.7 percent last year. The number of passengers increased 21.0 percent to 12.5 million.
