AIRCO WINS 15-YEAR CONTRACT FOR ON-SITE NITROGEN SUPPLY TO VALERO REFINING

MURRAY HILL, N.J., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Airco Gases, the U.S. gases business of The BOC Group, has installed a 45,000 standard cubic feet per hour (SCFH) nitrogen generating facility at Valero Refining's large, modern oil refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas. The nitrogen plant, built by Airco Gases as part of a 15-year contract awarded by Valero for on-site supply of liquid and gaseous nitrogen, is a crucial element in Valero's continuing expansion and modernization to its refinery.
"Valero has been a valued customer for some time," says Ron Gregg, Airco's vice president, process systems, who points out that the new contract is an extension of Airco's ongoing relationship with Valero. "It indicates that Valero trusts us to continue to meet its expanding needs on time, with the quality, speed and competitive pricing they've come to expect."
In addition to the 45,000 SCFH nitrogen plant, Airco Gases will provide Valero with technical services to support the application, and production personnel to maintain a reliable, high-quality supply of nitrogen. Nitrogen generated by the plant will be distributed to various locations within the refinery through pre-existing Valero pipelines.
