AIRBUS INDUSTRIE OF NORTH AMERICA NAMES NEW CHAIRMAN/CEO AND PRESIDENT/COO

 WASHINGTON, Nov. 30 ~PRNewswire~ -- Jonathan M. Schofield, president of United Technologies International Corporation, has been named chairman and chief executive officer of Airbus Industrie of North America, Inc., succeeding Alan S. Boyd, who will become vice chairman.
 John J. Leahy, currently senior vice president of sales and marketing for AINA, will become president and chief operating officer of the company. Both appointments are effective Dec. 16.
 AINA is the wholly owned subsidiary of the European aircraft consortium Airbus Industrie, responsible for sales and after sales support to U.S. and Canadian airlines.
 In his nearly 30 years at United Technologies Corp., Schofield served in various capacities at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and the Pratt & Whitney government engine business before being named president of United Technologies International Corp. in 1989. United Technologies International Corp. assists UTC operating units in carrying out their global product responsibilities.
 From 1986 to 1988, he was vice president-marketing of the Pratt & Whitney commercial engine business, and he served as vice president in several international capacities the previous five years. He joined Pratt & Whitney in 1963 in the procurement department.
 Schofield has been very active in numerous civic and community programs in Connecticut and represents UTC globally in numerous organizations.
 Schofield is a graduate of the University of Connecticut. He and his wife have two daughters.
 Leahy joined AINA in 1985 from Piper Aircraft Corp. as an area sales director. As senior vice president of sales and marketing, he has been responsible for sales, contracts, market planning and sales finance for U.S. and Canadian customers.
 Leahy is a graduate of Fordham University and earned an M.B.A. from Syracuse University. He and his wife have three children.
