AIR ONTARIO EXPANDS TORONTO ISLAND SERVICE OCT. 4TH

LONDON, Ontario, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Air Ontario has announced a 20 percent increase in its activity at Toronto Island Airport effective Oct. 4. The airline's enhanced schedule brings its total number of arrivals and departures to 60 every business day.
While the new schedule provides more flights to and from the downtown Toronto Island Airport, actual departure times have also been designed to better accommodate the needs of the time-pressed business traveller. As of Oct. 4, Air Ontario will offer the following frequencies: 12 Ottawa round trips; eight Montreal round trips; five London round trips; and four Newark round trips.
Scott Tapson, Air Ontario's director of commercial services, stated, "Toronto Island Airport has become a vital mini-hub in our overall system. Passengers value the convenience of landing in and departing from downtown Toronto; it saves them time and money." Tapson went on to say that the increase in service is in response to an increase in demand by Air Ontario's customers and that plans are under way to further promote the airline's downtown Toronto service.
Air Ontario, one of five Air Canada Connector carriers, is Ontario's leading regional airline serving London, Ottawa, Timmins, North Bay, Sarnia, Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Windsor and Toronto's Pearson International and Island Airports. With more regularly scheduled daily flights to these destinations than any other airline, it also offers direct flights outside the province to Montreal, Winnipeg, Newark, Hartford, Cleveland and Baltimore/Washington.
