AIR METHODS RECEIVES ORDERS FOR FIVE ADDITIONAL INTENSIVE CARE MEDICAL HELICOPTERS FOR GERMANY

DENVER, June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Air Methods Corp. (AMEX: ARF.EC) today announced its receipt of a purchase order for five additional medical interiors to be installed in five Bell 412 helicopters bound for Germany. The helicopters, purchased by HDM Flugservice GmbH, of Nurnberg, Germany, will be retrofitted with the company's newest state- of-the-art medical interior allowing the helicopters to be utilized as airborne intensive care units. A total of 11 such medical helicopter interiors will be provided to HDM by the company at the conclusion of this arrangement.
Orders for these five additional helicopters incorporate a new medical interior, custom designed to meet the unique transport and clinical care mission requirements of HDM Flugservice. This design is the result of a one year refinement process completed by Air Methods in consultation with HDM Flugservice. This specifically-designed medical interior operates as a high-technology extension of a hospital intensive care unit capable for use throughout Europe.
These additional international sales demonstrate the company's expanding commitment to its worldwide marketing program. "The Bell 412 helicopter, equipped with the company's medical interior, is one of the most sophisticated medical intensive care helicopters available worldwide," said W. Terrance Schreier, chairman and chief executive officer. Emergency medical interiors have also been installed in two Gulfstream Commander airplanes which are now operating in Canada. Air Methods has also completed the medical interiors for two Learjets with on-board emergency intensive care capabilities for use in Europe and the United States.
Air Methods is the largest exclusive provider of state-of-the-art emergency air medical transportation systems and services to hospitals throughout the United States. The company utilizes only IFR-certified pilots and aircraft, including 26 helicopters and four airplanes, to perform these services. In addition, Air Methods offers completely integrated airborne medical systems for administering intensive care to patients while flying to a trauma center or a tertiary care facility, either from outlying hospitals or the scene of an accident.
