AIR METHODS EXPANDS INTERNATIONAL MARKETING BASE WITH MEDICAL PRODUCT ORDERS FOR THE SWEDISH MILITARY

 DENVER, Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Air Methods Corp. (NASDAQ-NMS: AIRM), the nation's largest exclusive provider of emergency air medical transportation systems and services, today announced its receipt of an order to provide medical cabinets for five Agusta/Bell 412 military medical evacuation helicopters for the Swedish Army. This sale was facilitated by Agusta Aerospace Corp. of Philadelphia, directly to the Swedish Government on behalf of the company.
 These sophisticated medical cabinets incorporate two medical suction systems and a medical fluids warming unit. They will be utilized by the Swedish Army on-board five AB 412 multi-patient, medical evacuation military helicopters. Air Methods will provide these units throughout fiscal 1994. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. However, the company's revenues and operating profitability will be enhanced by this transaction.
 Air Methods is the largest exclusive provider of state-of-the-art emergency air medical transportation systems and services to hospitals throughout the United States. Air Methods now serves 48 hospitals in 13 states under 20 dedicated long-term operating agreements. The company utilizes only IFR-certified pilots and aircraft, including 30 helicopters and four airplanes, to perform these services. In addition, Air Methods offers completely integrated airborne medical systems for administering intensive care to patients while flying to a trauma center or a tertiary care facility, either from outlying hospitals or the scene of an accident.
