AIR METHODS CORP. COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF GOLDEN EAGLE AVIATION INC.

Consummation of Acquisition Intensifies Company's Penetration into the
Fixed Wing, Long Distance Air Medical Market
DENVER, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Air Methods Corp. (NASDAQ-NMS: AIRM), the nation's largest exclusive provider of aeromedical services and systems, today announced that it has successfully closed the acquisition of Golden Eagle Aviation Inc. Golden Eagle is the region's third largest provider of aircraft charter service and is headquartered at Centennial Airport in Denver, adjacent to Air Method's corporate facilities. Through the acquisition of Golden Eagle Aviation, the company will intensify its penetration of the expanding, long distance air medical market. Golden Eagle aviation could generate nearly $4 million of revenue throughout the next 12 months. This operation will also synergistically complement the existing Air Method's airplane medical service throughout the United States. The acquisition will substantially improve the contribution of the company's airplane division to Air Methods' overall profitability and allow the company to be globally competitive in the worldwide air medical marketplace.
 W. Terrance Schreier, chairman and CEO of the company, noted that, "One of the largest aeromedical markets which is developing is the international emergency trauma services industry. This acquisition will allow us to penetrate this expanding marketplace in a truly significant way, facilitating the extension of service to many of our current U.S. air medical customers. As important, on a national basis, the Golden Eagle acquisition allows us to be much more aggressive in the development of the managed care air medical transportation business, particularly as we anticipate changes in national health care reform."
Air Methods Corp. is the largest exclusive provider of state-of-the- art emergency air medical transportation systems and services to hospitals throughout the United States. Air Methods now serves 54 hospitals in 14 states under 21 dedicated long-term operating agreements. The company utilizes only Instrument Flight Rule (IFR)- certified pilots and aircraft, including 30 helicopters and 12 airplanes, to perform these services. In addition, Air Methods offers completely integrated airborne medical systems for administering intensive care to patients while flying to a trauma center or a tertiary care facility, either from outlying hospitals or the scene of an accident.
