AIR GAGE COMPANY AND THREE MEXICO-BASED INVESTORS FORM AIR GAGE DE MEXICO S.A. DE C.V.

LIVONIA, Mich., May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The formation of Air Gage de Mexico S.A. de C.V., a joint venture and licensing agreement between Air Gage Company and three Mexico-based investors, was announced today by Dominic Persichini, president, Air Gage Company, 12170 Globe Road, Livonia, MI 48150. The three investors, each owning a 20-percent share, are Arnulfo Campos, Guadalupe de la Fuente and Antonio Garcia.
The joint venture involves a two-phase plan involving the transfer of technology from Air Gage Company to Air Gage de Mexico, while the licensing agreement permits the transferred technology to be manufactured and sold in Mexico, Spain and Portugal. The first phase, beginning immediately, includes extensive training in Livonia on how to build and service basic electronic components. This includes transducers, electronic columns and module boards.
The second phase, scheduled to begin shortly after the completion of phase one, involves the remainder of Air Gage Company's product line. this includes training on how to design, manufacture, service and support air, electronic and computerized gaging systems, CADEYES non- contact inspection systems, Fas-Loc quick-change toolholders and a full line of testing systems from the Precise Technology & Electronics division.
All aspects of engineering and manufacturing at Air Gage de Mexico will take place in a new 15,000-square-foot facility located in Toluca, Mexico. Sales, engineering and administration personnel will occupy 2,000 square feet with the remainder allocated for manufacturing. In addition to in-house salesmen, Air Gage de Mexico will utilize centrally located field representatives to market their product line to current and prospective customers throughout Latin America.
The board of directors consists of Arnulfo Campos, chairman; Guadalupe de la Fuente, treasurer; and Leon Bunch, secretary. Each member of the board, along with General Manager Antonio Garcia and inspector Hugo Rodriguez, will monitor the day-to-day activities of Air Gage de Mexico and work closely with Wayne Bending of Air Gage Company who will serve as technical liaison between the two parties.
According to Dominic Persichini, "For several years, manufacturers in Mexico have emphasized the importance of dealing with companies that provide local engineering, manufacturing and training support. We decided that the best way to illustrate our commitment to solving all their quality control problems would be to establish Air Gage de Mexico."
Persichini added that, "We were very fortunate that Arnulfo, Guadalupe and Antonio were interested in pursuing a long-lasting relationship with us. With their business savvy and contacts throughout the manufacturing community, we feel that Air Gage de Mexico will be successful for many years to come."
