AIR & WATER TECHNOLOGIES SUBSIDIARY TO LICENSE VAPOR CONTROL
 TECHNOLOGY FOR BULK STORAGE TERMINALS
BRANCHBURG, N.J., March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Research-Cottrell, a subsidiary of Air & Water Technologies Corporation (AMEX: AWT) has signed an agreement with Environmental Systems Pty. Ltd. of New South Wales, Australia, to license its proprietary storage terminal vapor emission control technology for sale in the North American market.
The system provides a practical and effective means for process analysis and collecting and controlling organic vapor emissions from chemical and petroleum storage tanks as well as those vapors displaced during transfer operations. Selected technologies, including condensation, absorption, and incineration are used to treat the vapors; purified air is then released into the atmosphere.
"Our clients in the chemical and petroleum markets are seeking pragmatic methods for collecting and treating air pollutants, especially VOCs," said Donald A. Deieso, president and chief executive officer of Research-Cottrell. "This system will provide the storage terminal industry with a proven technique for managing business operations while controlling emissions. This technology will be added to the array of products and services we offer."
Gordon R. Croudace, managing director of Environmental Systems, added, "With seven systems operating in Australia and one operational and three under construction in Holland, we believe that we have more experience in this field than any other company. The liason with Research-Cottrell will enable the North American market to benefit from this experience."
The subsidiaries of Research-Cottrell -- Air Pollution Control Division, Custodis, Ecodyne Cooling Tower Services, Flex-Kleen, KVB/Analect, R-C Environmental Services & Technologies, R-C Europe, and REECO -- provide the expertise, technology and services to comprehensively solve any air or thermal pollution problem.
