AIOU' students face problems due to different examination centers.
The university has designated different examination centers located at faraway places from the residence of the students for each paper and they have to put tiring efforts for searching examination centre for each paper separately.
Beenish, a student of Mass Communication, said "It is very difficult for me to find examination centers located at different places of Islamabad which are not familiar for me".
"The examination centers for my all papers are at different locations in G-sector which is far away from my home and I have to find the examination centre every time which is time wasting and lethargic exercise", she said.
"I have to take cab to search my examination centre for every paper in scorching heat and during CNG holidays, finding cab is another uphill task," she said.
Another student Shahina said "I went to a wrong centre and started my paper there and meanwhile I was told that this is not my centre and it happened with many students there".
The whole exercise of finding the correct centre spoiled one of my paper and it discouraged me a lot, she said.
Noman, another student of B.S Software Engineering said "I live in Muslim Town, Rawalpindi and I have to rush for Tench Bhatta for one of my paper. The place is not known to me but I have to search that prior to my paper.
The examination centers for all the papers must be same so that the students can concentrate on studies instead of wasting their energies in finding the centers daily.
When contacted, Controller of Examinations, AIOU Hamid Niazi, he said "the university has designated same centers for all the papers and the students who are reappearing in any paper have to go to the centers located at faraway places to appear in the paper".
He said if any student is finding difficulty due to designated place of examination centre, he or she can contact the university for changing the centre.
The university has designated centers through making groups of the subjects as the students appearing in the Physics paper have to go to one centre and for chemistry to another, he said.
