 AIG APPOINTS DAVID BLAKE SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
 IN OVERSEAS PROPERTY-CASUALTY ORGANIZATION
 NEW YORK, July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- American International Group (NYSE: AIG) announced that David Blake has joined American International Underwriters (AIU), the company's international property-casualty insurance organization, as senior vice president, major accounts. Based in New York, Blake will concentrate on developing multinational accounts, particularly those requiring specialized services such as risk management and worldwide loss control. He will report to Joseph Smetana, president of AIU Commercial Lines.
 Blake has an extensive risk management background. He joins AIU from Willis Corroon Group, where he was a vice president. Prior to that, he was vice president, Risk Management and Insurance at the Inter- Continental Hotels Corporation for nine years, where he had international responsibilities for global risk management, security, crisis management, safety and political risk programs. Blake is an engineering graduate of Oklahoma State University.
