 WINNER OF 10TH ANNIVERSARY LEADERSHIP AWARD
 PHILADELPHIA, May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The Delaware Valley Project With Industry (DVPWI) has named G. Fred DiBona Jr. the recipient of its 10th Anniversary Leadership Award.
 DiBona, president and chief executive officer of Independence Blue Cross, will be honored at DVPWI's 10th Anniversary Dinner Celebration on Thursday, May 21. The award is in recognition of his business leadership in the Delaware Valley that has led to the understanding of the human resources potential of all employees including those with disabilities.
 "The success of DVPWI has been very much due to the support of the business community," said Daniel Sullivan, executive director, DVPWI. "Independence Blue Cross, under Fred DiBona's leadership, has shown a deep commitment to the employment of qualified people with disabilities."
 "DVPWI is committed to helping people with disabilities secure meaningful jobs," DiBona said. "It is an honor to be recognized by this organization which provides such a vital service to both employers and individuals with disabilities."
 DVPWI is a non profit organization initiated by the Electronic Industries Foundation in cooperation with Magee Rehabilitation Hospital and the local business community. This partnership is charged with the task of satisfying labor market demands by matching qualified disabled workers with appropriate job openings at no cost to the employers.
 The dinner will celebrate DVPWI's 10th anniversary and its 1,000th employee placement. In addition to the Leadership Award, DVPWI will present awards to local businesses and non-profit agencies which support the goals of employing persons with disabilities. Also, special awards will be given to three of DVPWI's successfully employed applicants.
 Ray Murray, host of the television show Evening Magazine, will host the program. DiBona will serve as honorary chairman for the event which is being held at Independence Blue Cross, 1901 Market St., Philadelphia.
