AGCO CORPORATION AND UNITED STEEL WORKERS SIGN NEW THREE YEAR CONTRACT

 ATLANTA, June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- AGCO Corporation (NASDAQ: AGCO) and the United Steel Workers of America, Local 1958, at the Independence, Mo. plant, have signed a new three year contract, the company announced today.
 The contract was ratified by the AGCO union employees on Saturday, May 22.
 Commenting on the pact, Robert J. Ratliff, president and chief executive officer of AGCO said, "We are pleased that the members of Local 1958 ratified this agreement and that we were able to execute the contract documents on June 16, 1993. We look forward to three more productive years at our Independence, Mo. plant."
 AGCO is a major distributor and manufacturer of agricultural equipment and related replacement parts in North America. The company offers a full line of products, including tractors, combines, hay tools and forage equipment and implements.
 AGCO manufactures its GLEANER(R) combines and high horsepower tractors at the Independence plant.
