AFS Awards of Scientific Merit.

Oleg S. Fishman, vice president and chief technical officer, Inductotherm Corp., received recognition "for advancements in the design of more efficient power converters and introduction of computer controlled systems for melting and automatic pouring systems."

Daniel E. Groteke, president, Q.C. Designs Inc., earned his award "for extensive contributions to aluminum process development and for leadership in sharing technology with the metalcasting industry."

Kathy L. Hayrynen, technical director, Applied Process Inc., was bestowed the award "for outstanding work in developing the technology of austempered ductile iron into a practical and usable resource that has expanded the market for castings."
