 AFL-CIO CONFERENCE ON COMMUNITY SERVICES OPENS TUESDAY
 The 30th National AFL-CIO Conference on Community Services opens


Tuesday, June 16, in the Regency Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, 265 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, beginning at 9 a.m.
 The conference, to be attended by more than 400 AFL-CIO community activists from throughout the nation, will continue through Thursday.
 Highlights of Tuesday's opening session are:
 9:30 a.m. -- Keynote address by Joe Velasquez, director, AFL-CIO
 Department of Community Services.
 10 a.m. -- Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), senior member of the
 Congressional Black Caucus, "A War of Words."
 11 a.m. -- Judith Meredith, coordinator, Grassroots Health Care
 Campaign, "The Health Care Crisis."
 11:30 a.m.-- Cecil Roberts, vice president, United Mine Workers of
 America, "The State of the Unions."
