AETRIUM ANNOUNCES $4.6 MILLION IN NEW VERSATUS ORDERS

ST. PAUL, Minn., Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Aetrium, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATRM), which is a leading supplier of test handlers to the semiconductor manufacturing industry, today announced it has received a number of orders totaling $4.6 million for its proprietary Versatus(TM) Automation Modules in the last 30 days. The orders were received from six different capital equipment companies who will integrate the Versatus modules into their own unique equipment which they sell to semiconductor manufacturers.
Aetrium's Versatus Automation Modules were introduced in 1990 to complement the company's broad line of test handlers and have been the fastest growing segment of Aetrium's business since their introduction. The new orders are for Versatus modules to be used in the automation of lead inspection, lead trim & form, lead reconditioning and IC package marking for various capital equipment companies.
Aetrium President Joe Levesque said, "This new Versatus business is consistent with company's objectives to broaden its product and customer base."
The company said four of the six orders which made up the $4.6 million were new customers to Aetrium. One of the new customers is Rofin-Sinar of Germany which is Aetrium's first international user of automation modules.
Aetrium designs, manufactures and markets test handlers and proprietary Versatus Automation Modules used in the assembly and testing of packaged integrated circuits (ICs) semiconductor devices.
