 AETNA NOMINATES JORDAN TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 HARTFORD, Conn., March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael H. Jordan of


Dallas, chairman of PepsiCo's International Foods and Beverage Division, has been nominated as a director of Aetna Life & Casualty (NYSE: AET). Election of directors will take place at the company's April 24 annual meeting of shareholders.
 Jordon, 55, has been a director of PepsiCo, Inc. (NYSE: PEP) since 1985 and served as president and chief executive officer of PepsiCo Worldwide Foods, Inc., from 1986 to January 1991 when he assumed his current position.
 "Michael Jordan's extensive background in strategic management, finance and international marketing will make him a valuable addition to Aetna's board," Ronald E. Compton, Aetna chairman. "We're delighted he has accepted the board's nomination and we look forward to having him join us."
 Jordan joined PepsiCo in 1974 after 10 years as a consultant with McKinsey & Co. After two years as director of financial planning, he became senior vice president of planning and development and in 1977 was named senior vice president of Frito-Lay, Inc., a PepsiCo subsidiary.
 In 1982, Jordan became president of PepsiCo Foods International and a year later was named president and chief executive officer of Frito-Lay, Inc. He was named executive vice president and chief financial officer of PepsiCo, Inc. in 1985, the same year he was elected to the company's board.
 Jordan is a director of the United Negro College Fund and serves as chairman of the Center for Excellence in Education. In addition to his service on the PepsiCo board, he is a director of the Melville Corporation and Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, Inc.
 He holds a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Yale University and received his M.S. degree in engineering from Princeton University.
 Jordan and his wife, Kim, reside in Dallas. They have two children.
