AERT 2Q income up 88 percent.

Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies Inc. of Springdale said second-quarter net income rose 88 percent to $1.7 million.

The company, which makes composite wood decking material, also reported a 34 percent increase in net sales. Sales reached $28 million, up from $21 million during the same quarter last year.

Income before taxes increased 214 percent to $2.8 million from $918,938 in the second quarter of 2005.

Second-quarter earnings per share were 4 cents, compared with 2 cents for the second quarter of 2005.
