AEROVOX CEO, CLIFFORD TUTTLE, RESPONDS TO INQUIRY

 NEW BEDFORD, Mass., Dec. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to an inquiry as to recent activity in Aerovox (NASDAQ: ARVX) stock, Clifford Tuttle, Aerovox CEO, stated that he had received word that a fire had resulted in shutdown of the plant of one of Aerovox's major competitors.
 Tuttle said that Aerovox is closed for holiday and will determine to what extent Aerovox can expand production to meet the needs of customers.
