AEROSPACE UNIT IS RENAMED LEWIS ENGINEERING
NEW YORK, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- An aerospace operation of Coltec

Industries (NYSE: COT) that manufactures cockpit instrumentation, temperature sensors and brake monitoring systems has been renamed "Lewis Engineering Co."
The operation, based in Naugatuck, Conn., began operating in 1925 as "Lewis Engineering," but changed its name to "Lewis Electronic Instrumentation" in 1985. The name was changed back to "Lewis Engineering" because customers continue to refer to it by that name, according to James J. Jackson, Lewis vice president and general manager.
Lewis produces and markets more than 500 variations of its products, which fly aboard virtually every commercial aircraft outside the former Soviet Union.
Coltec Industries Inc. is a New York-based manufacturing company with revenues of approximately $1.4 billion serving aerospace, automotive and other industrial markets.
