AEROMEXICO TEAMS UP WITH AIR L.A.
HOUSTON, March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Dennis Mancini, Aeromexico's senior vice president, International, today announced that Aeromexico has concluded a code-sharing agreement with Air L.A. effective March 17, 1993. Air L.A. is a regional carrier that has its hub in Los Angeles and offers daily, non-stop service between Los Angeles International and Tijuana, Mexico. Air L.A. flies METRO III twin turbo aircraft with a capacity of 19 passengers. "Our code sharing agreement with Aeromexico will allow Air L.A. access to a wider ranging market and will provide us with an excellent opportunity to grow while providing a key service to one of the best up and coming airlines, Aeromexico," commented Bill Wolf, vice president of Marketing for Air L.A. Wolf also stated that "travelers to Mexico will enjoy increased opportunities with the Aeromexico/Air L.A. relationship as the coordinated flight services will be expanded in the future to include services to Ensenada in Mexico, Ontario, California and other cities in the U.S. and Mexico." All Air L.A. flights will be placed in Aeromexico's reservations system as Aeromexico code shared flights under the AM 5000 series and plans are underway to make all connections between both airlines smooth and seamless. This new affiliation with Air L.A. augments Aeromexico's regional coverage which also includes Mexican commuter lines, such as Aerolitoral with hubs in Monterrey and Guadalajara, and Aeromar with a hub in Mexico City. -0- 3/10/93 /CONTACT: Duane & Associates, 305-444-9102/
