AER LINGUS THANKS U.S. TRAVEL AGENTSWITH SPECIAL TRAVEL VALUES TO IRELAND

NEW YORK, April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Aer Lingus today announced special discounts for U.S. travel agents on its transatlantic airfares and on selected Ireland vacation products. This offer is being made by the Irish airline in recognition of the efforts of U.S. travel agents in supporting Aer Lingus and to thank them for their continuing loyalty.
Calling it, simply, the "Thank You, Travel Agents" fare, Aer Lingus now offers all IATAN approved travel agents a special roundtrip airfare of $199 (plus taxes) on its routes from New York or Boston to Ireland. As an additional benefit, Aer Lingus will allow each travel agent travelling on this fare to bring a companion along at the same fare, provided both parties travel on the same flights and dates. Travel must commence between April 1 and May 31, 1993 and all travel must be completed by June 14. This is a self-ticketing fare and agents should send a copy of their IATAN list, along with copies of auditor's coupons, to the Aer Lingus Sales Department in New York after ticket issuance.
As a further enhancement of this offer to agents, Aer Lingus is also giving participants a special rate on two of the airline's most popular vacation packages. Travel agents may purchase a Discover Ireland B&B & Car vacation starting at $34 per day or a Hotel & Car package from $50 per day. Prices are per person, based on 2 people sharing accommodations and a minimum stay of 2 days is required. Prices include a Group "A" Avis car and full Irish breakfast each day. Larger cars or automatic transmission rentals are priced higher. These special rates are available during the validity period of the "Thank You, Travel Agents" airfare offer and full payment for land packages must be received by the Aer Lingus Tours Department at least 7 days before travel commences. Travel agents should consult their CRS for full details.
"We have always recognized the support of travel agents in providing Aer Lingus with its business in North America," said Billy Condon, the airline's passenger sales manager. "Now we want to thank them for that support in a tangible way with these special offers. We also want to encourage agents to sample the Aer Lingus brand of Irish hospitality, and to have them experience the magic that is Ireland first-hand by taking one of these Discover Ireland vacation packages which have become so popular with America travelers, mainly through the efforts of our travel agent partners."
