AER LINGUS LAUNCHES ITS "MONEY FOR MILEAGE" PROGRAM FOR U.S. BUSINESS TRAVELERS TO EUROPE

AER LINGUS LAUNCHES ITS "MONEY FOR MILEAGE" PROGRAM FOR
 U.S. BUSINESS TRAVELERS TO EUROPE
NEW YORK, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Aer Lingus has announced an unusual and innovative twist to its "TAB" frequent flyer program that's designed to encourage business travelers to fly to Europe via Ireland.
Called "Money for Mileage," the airline's new program offers cash and travel awards to its Premier Service business class passengers who fly to Ireland or Britain on Aer Lingus:
-- 3 roundtrips earn the traveler a check for $1,000
-- For 2 roundtrips, the award is $500
-- After only 1 roundtrip a passenger earns a free coach ticket on
Aer Lingus to Ireland or Britain.
To qualify for "Money for Mileage" a traveler must belong to the Aer Lingus TAB frequent traveler program. Instant membership is available. As if these awards weren't enough, a passenger in Aer Lingus' Premier Service also saves up to 25 percent on fares charged by direct carriers to Britain. As Aer Lingus points out, not only does the individual traveler benefit in this program but the corporate travel budget also makes an immediate savings on travel costs.
"We have felt for some time that Aer Lingus' Premier Service business class across the Atlantic was at least the equal in quality of any other carrier's service," said John Bastable, the Aer Lingus senior vice president in North America. "And by virtue of Ireland's geographic location, we also offer convenient connections to most major British and European cities. Add to this the fact that our Premier Service business class air fare is significantly lower to Britain than other airlines' fares, and we have an extremely strong list of reasons why business travelers should consider Aer Lingus. 'Money for Mileage' is intended to offer yet another reason for them to try our brand of quality service."
A major print, radio and direct mail advertising campaign will launch the program on Sept. 14. Aer Lingus expects to generate a lot of interest with its innovative offer and hopes to encourage an increase in business travel to Europe by now making it much more affordable.
