AEQUITRON'S CROW RIVER SUBSIDIARY INTRODUCES ULTRAGATER HIGH-PERFORMANCE WHEELCHAIR LIFT

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Aequitron Medical's (NASDAQ-NMS: AQTN) Crow River Industries subsidiary announced today the introduction of the Ultragater Wheelchair Lift, the fastest, most stable wheelchair lift the company has ever designed.
The Ultragater is an electric lift made with steel and aluminum construction. The lift's cycle time is just 10 seconds up or down, reducing the lift cycle by as much as 30 percent. The lift's rapid cycle time helps individuals move in and out of their vehicle quickly, an especially important feature during cold weather months, according to a consumer and dealer study conducted by Aequitron.
Equipped with both an electric and a manual backup system, the Ultragater assures lift reliability even if the electrical system quits completely.
According to Aequitron's Acting President William Milne, nearly two years were invested in designing the Ultragater. "We gathered input from dealers and users and implemented many of their ideas into the new lift's final design," he commented.
"We're especially proud of this particular lift," Milne said. "By integrating our expertise and technology together with the feedback we've received from dealers and users, the Ultragater will expand our ability to offer flexible lift options to meet our consumers' diverse needs."
The Ultragater was designed with dual-post construction for added strength and stability for users with especially heavy wheelchairs. It also offers an adjustable overhead bar that allows for adaptability to different van ceiling heights.
Aequitron Medical, Inc. designs, manufactures and markets electronic products for home health care and hospital use; and wheelchair lifts and automobile hand controls for people who face mobility challenges. The company's common stock is traded on the National Market System under the NASDAQ symbol AQTN.
