AEI Acquires Majority Interest in Alpine Air Express.
6 May 2019 - Florida, US-based private equity investor AE Industrial Partners, LP (AEI) has acquired a majority interest in Utah, US-based logistics and transportation platform Alpine Air Express, Inc., providing regional air cargo services throughout the Mountain Region of the Western United States, the company said.
As part of this transaction, AEI has partnered with the company's existing shareholders, including Michael Dancy who will continue in his role as CEO of Alpine. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Alpine operates a growing fleet of over 40 aircraft, and it recently developed a proprietary Supplemental Type certificate (STC) to convert the Beechcraft 1900D aircraft from passenger configuration to cargo configuration, making it the largest single pilot cargo aircraft in the world.
This STC offers Alpine a unique competitive advantage which should enable the company to capture greater share in its market.
