ADVANCE CIRCUITS, INC. RECEIVES OUTSTANDING SUBCONTRACTOR AWARD

MINNETONKA, Minn., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Advance Circuits, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: ADVC), Minnetonka-based manufacturer of interconnect products announced today that it had received the Outstanding Subcontractor Award, for the third quarter of 1993, from the United States Air Force Aeronautical Systems Center's (ASC) Subsystems System Program Office (SPO) located at Wright-Patterson AFB.
Advance Circuits received the award in ceremonies at the company's Minnetonka facility on November 5. Colonel Frederick L. Westover, acting program director of the Subsystems SPO, praised the company's dedication as a high-quality supplier of printed circuit boards for avionics equipment. "The work you do here at Advance Circuits and, most importantly, your commitment to continuous improvement and quality, plays a vital role in the Air Force mission and the defense of our nation," said Westover.
The SPO's Outstanding Subcontractor Award program, begun in 1986, allows five prime contractors, on a rotating basis, to nominate a subcontractor for this recognition. Smiths Industries, Grand Rapids, Mich., nominated Advance Circuits based on its excellence in the areas of quality, schedule, cost and ability to incorporate design changes in supporting the standard flight data recorder program.
Advance Circuits is currently the largest independent manufacturer of military printed circuit boards in the United States. It was a finalist in the "large manufacturer" category for the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award in 1992. Printed circuit boards manufactures by Advance Circuits are in many Air Force systems, including the F-16 Fighting Falcon, and Maverick and Patriot missiles as well as the standard flight data recorder program.
The Subsystems SPO is responsible for research, development, test, evaluation and initial acquisition of aircraft avionics, air base performance equipment, as well as all new gas turbine engines for the Air Force. ASC is a major product center of Air Force Material Command, also located at Wright-Patterson AFB.
The company's common stock is traded on the NASDAQ National Market System under the symbol "ADVC."
