 ADVACARE, INC. ANNOUNCES ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENTS
 HORSHAM, Pa., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- AdvaCare, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVCR)


today announced that William Joe Davis, III, 46 years old, has been elected president and chief executive officer. Previously the duties of the chief executive have been shared by Mr. Davis, Gregory S. Campbell, 45, chairman, and Dr. Thomas H. McConnell, 54, executive vice president, who together formed the office of chief executive. Mr. Campbell will continue to serve as chairman of the company, with principal oversight responsibility for the company's corporate development and finance activities.
 Mr. Davis was the founder, president and chief executive officer of Southwestern Medical Billing Management, Inc. from 1983 until 1989, when the company was acquired by AdvaCare. Mr. Davis has served AdvaCare as executive vice president since 1989, as a director since 1991 and as a member of the office of chief executive and president of the Physician Division since April 1992. Mr. Davis is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington.

 AdvaCare also announced that Dr. McConnell has resigned as an officer of the company to focus on his duties as chairman of the executive committee of the board of directors. Dr. McConnell's duties will include the continued development of the company's long-range planning process and acting as the company's liaison to the medical professional societies and government advisory boards. It was also announced that Sandor A. Heitler, 48, has resigned as a director and officer of the company to concentrate on the previously announced development of the company's facilities management business, of which he serves as president and chief executive officer.
 AdvaCare is one of the leading providers of business services, particularly reimbursement management services, to health care providers throughout the United States.
