BOCA RATON, Fla., March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- ADT Limited (NYSE: ADT), the leading electronic security services and vehicle auctions company, announced today that its United States Vehicle Auctions Division has acquired four auction centers previously owned by the Skyline Auction Group. This acquisition expands ADT's national vehicle auction network into the important northeastern market of the United States.
The auctions which have been acquired are:
-- Skyline Auto Exchange, Fairfield, N.J. Located on 61 acres, this is the closest major auto auction to New York City. The auction features a seven lane auction facility and a full service reconditioning center.
-- Hatfield Auto Auction, Philadelphia/Hatfield. Located just north of Philadelphia, on a 24 acre site with a nine acre reconditioning center nearby.
-- Aycock Auto Auction, Kenly, N.C. A four lane auction facility located on a 106 acre site.
-- Dothan Auto Auction, Dothan, Ala. Located on 25 acres, the auction features a five lane auction building and a separate reconditioning center on 10 acres nearby.
Commenting on the acquisition, Mr. Michael A. Ashcroft, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ADT, said, "ADT is pleased to add four strong auction centers to its national vehicle remarketing network. These auction centers will be fully integrated into ADT Auctions' network. The purchase of Skyline Auto Exchange near New York City and Hatfield Auto Auction near Philadelphia gives ADT Auctions a strong presence in the northeast."
ADT Auctions handled approximately 2.2 million vehicles in 1992 generating auction sale proceeds of approximately $9.6 billion. This acquisition increases to 56 the total number of vehicle auction centers operated by ADT in the United States, the United Kingdom, and continental Europe.
