ADOLPH COORS CO. SUBSIDIARY TO SELL BIOTECHNOLOGY SUBSIDIARY

 GOLDEN, Colo., Nov. 16 ~PRNewswire~ -- ACX Technologies Inc., a recently created subsidiary of Adolph Coors Co. (NASDAQ-NMS: ACCOB), today announced its intention to sell its biotechnology business, a newly formed company known as ZeaGen Inc.
 "ZeaGen is not a strategic fit with the group of Coors technology companies included within ACX Technologies," said Jeffrey H. Coors, president of ACX Technologies.
 ZeaGen operates a fermentation facility in Winchester, Ky., which produces riboflavin (Vitamin B2). It also has several new products under development at its research center in Ft. Collins. Not included in the offer to sell are the corn wet mill in Johnstown, which is held by Golden Technologies Co., or its fructo-oligosaccharide (FOS) joint venture with Meiji Seika Kaisha Ltd. in Japan.
 The sale of ZeaGen is being managed by Big Stone Partners of Boulder, Colo., in conjunction with Dillon, Read & Co. Inc. of New York.
 ACX Technologies, with its headquarters in Golden, is a diversified technology company with businesses in aluminum rigid container sheet, ceramics and folding carton and flexible packaging. On May 14, 1992, Adolph Coors Co. authorized development of a plan to spin off ACX Technologies which is anticipated to occur in December 1992.
