ADM issues 264 warnings over abandoned vehicles.
Summary: A warning notice will be pasted on the windshield of the offending vehicle for three days.
As many as 264 warning notices were served to vehicle owners for abandoning their vehicles on public car parks and open spaces for long time without cleaning them.
The notices were issued during a campaign launched by the Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM) in Al Buteen municipality centre area, including the southern and eastern sectors of the Capital.
The municipality stressed keenness on raising awareness among the public on the importance of cleaning their cars and not to leave them in public places, car parks and open spaces for long time without being taken care of.
In a statement issued on Monday, the municipality said abandoned and uncleaned cars parked for a long time at public places will distort the civilised image of the city, and the action also boosts the safety and security of the public.
A warning notice will be pasted on the windshield of the offending vehicle for three days, after which the supervisor will notify the cars towing company to take away the cars and be impounded in Al Wathba motor vehicles impound area.
The violators will be issued tickets after the expiry of the three-day warning. The statement said the campaign also included crackdown on people who clean and wash motor vehicles on the streets without having a permit.
