NEW YORK-The stars of consumer electronics and major appliances assembled here for the industry's annual Anti-Defamation League dinner-dance. Honorees ran the gamut from a dealer with two stores to the chief executive officer of a billion-dollar enterprise.

Jay Lebowitz, the independent retailer who's president of the Intercounty buying group and a key founder of the five-chapter NECO Alliance, received the Patricia Rienzi Legacy Award. Dong Jin Oh, president and CEO of Samsung Electronics America, was given the David S. Feir International Humanitarian Award.

David Lorsch, president and CEO of DBL Distributing, earned the American Heritage Award. Bernie Schneyer, publisher of Dealerscope, E-Gear and CustomRetailer, took home the Torch of Liberty Award.

Primary chairmen for the event were Best Buy's Mike London, JVC's Harry Elias and Saul Gold, executive director-emeritus at NATM Buying Corp.
