ADI and Parascript integrated technologies selected by US Census Bureau.

TELECOMWORLDWIRE-July 27, 2010-ADI and Parascript integrated technologies selected by US Census Bureau(C)1994-2010 M2 COMMUNICATIONS http://www.m2.com

Data quality management product provider Advanced Document Imaging LLC and image analysis solutions provider Parascript LLC announced on Tuesday their integrated technologies were used to perform quality assurance testing for the US Census Bureau for electronic data capture in the 2010 Census.

No financial details were disclosed.

According to the companies, the ADI and Parascript partnership helps the Census Bureau ensure accuracy of important data gleaned from census forms. In particular, the solution delivers a cost-effective and high-quality assurance programme that validates the accuracy of the census data capture process.

ADI developed the Production Data Quality (PDQ) test system that was used to evaluate data capture production output quality from the prime contractor by sampling almost 1m forms and reporting the results to the Census Bureau. The test system uses Parascript's FormXtra and ADI's algorithms to cost-effectively determine the truth of production data, which is then used for scoring.

FormXtra combines the company's recognition software with a form definition module that helps integrators identify fields on forms, tune form definition for improved recognition accuracy and define the format of extracted data. The solution recognises constrained and unconstrained hand print, machine print and natural handwriting, reducing reliance on manual keying and cutting processing cycle times, the company said.
