ADI Engineering Announces Low-Cost Outdoor Wi-Fi Access Point and Wi-Fi Router Board; High-Performance, Ruggedized Products for the Wireless ISP, System Integrator, and VAR Markets Based on Intel(R) XScale(TM) Technology.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- ADI Engineering, Inc., a leading provider of reference platforms, OEM products, and custom designs based on Intel(R) network processors today announced two new Wi-Fi products based on the Intel IXP42x product line for the Wireless ISP, system integrator and OEM markets. "Pronghorn Outdoor" is a weatherproof outdoor 802.11a/b/g access point, and "Pronghorn SBC" is a low-cost Wi-Fi router board. Both products are supported by leading operating system and application software partners and both are available immediately from ADI Engineering.

Pronghorn Outdoor is based on the Intel IXP420 or IXP425 Network Processor, and it features a NEMA 6 rated cast aluminum enclosure, single or dual high-power 400 mW 802.11b/g or a/b/g radios, 802.3af power over Ethernet, dual surge protected 10/100 Ethernet ports, case-mounted outdoor antennas or connections for external antenna cables, and is available in both commercial and extended temperature versions.

Pronghorn SBC is based on the IXP420 or IXP425 Network Processor, and it provides up to 128 MB SDRAM, 32 MB Flash, dual surge protected 10/100 Ethernet ports, 802.3af Power over Ethernet, dual MiniPCI slots, one RS-232 port, a watchdog timer, and is available in both commercial and extended temperature versions.

Both products are certified to FCC certified and CE marked, and both are supported by leading operating system and Wi-Fi application firmware partners, including MontaVista, WindRiver Systems, Devicescape, Antcor, Wilibox, and Absolute Value Systems. The Wi-Fi application firmware as well as the hardware can be privately branded and customized by ADI and its partners.
