ADD: attention deficit disorder.

Children with this condition may have difficulty learning in school. It is more difficult for them to pay attention to the teacher. It is harder for them to finish their homework, and they may not always get along with the other kids. This makes it harder for these often very intelligent kids to learn.

Some kids with ADD seem to have more energy than other kids. It may seem as though they are always moving around. This condition is called Attention Deficit Disorder With Hyperactivity. Perhaps your classmate has that extra energy.

Attention Deficit Disorder

There are a number of ways doctors can help people with

Attention Deficit Disorder. One medicine used is called ritalin. This medicine is not a cure, and it does not work for everybody. But when it does work, it can help a person with ADD sit still, listen, and focus on his or her work. This can help him do better in reading, classwork, and homework.
