ADC Opens EMEA Production Facility in the Czech Republic; Manufacturing Site to Supply Copper and Fiber Network Equipment to ADC's Europe/Middle East/Africa Customers.

MINNEAPOLIS -- ADC (NASDAQ:ADCT)(, today announced it opened a new manufacturing facility in Brno, Czech Republic. To date, the new location employs approximately 45 people who are trained in the production and manufacture of copper and fiber connectivity products for service provider and enterprise customers in the Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA) market.

"This new location gives ADC several advantages going forward," said Mary Quay, vice president of global operations for ADC. "First, the Brno site moves us to a more central location to better serve our widespread carrier and enterprise customers based in the EMEA region. Secondly, the Czech Republic offers a highly skilled, low-cost labor force, which means we can grow efficiently as the EMEA market continues to expand. Finally, we are able to consolidate our labour intensive operations, formerly conducted in several locations, to the Czech Republic, lowering our overall costs of doing business."

ADC is modelling its European manufacturing operation on its successful Americas Region operation. The strategy enables ADC to serve its customers quickly and efficiently, while remaining price sensitive. The approach entails the use of low-cost centers to produce high volumes of equipment used in communications networks. Research, design and development of new products continues to be conducted at the company's world headquarters located in Minneapolis, and in both the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.

ADC currently occupies a temporary facility in Brno, but has signed a contract to lease a 123,500-square-foot facility from Dutch developer CTP Invest. ADC will invest in both machinery and people at the new location. By the end of 2006, the company could employ up to 200 people at the new facility.

ADC provides the connections for wireline, wireless, cable, broadcast, and enterprise networks around the world. ADC's innovative network infrastructure equipment and professional services enable high-speed Internet, data, video, and voice services to residential, business and mobile subscribers. ADC (NASDAQ:ADCT) has sales into more than 140 countries. Learn more about ADC at
