ACTIVISION INC. ANNOUNCES STRONG INITIAL SALES OF RETURN TO ZORK

 LOS ANGELES, Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Activision Inc. (OTC: ATVI), through its Infocom division, today announced that its new interactive media hit, Return to Zork, is experiencing strong sales in its initial week of product shipment.
 "We are very pleased that the demand for Return to Zork is so great, sales will significantly exceed our expectations both on the floppy disk and CD-ROM versions," said Robert A. Kotick, chairman and chief executive officer. "Our Macintosh and 3DO Multiplayer versions are scheduled for release early next year, and we expect the MPEG full-motion video version to ship in November." Both Egghead Software and CompUSA report that Return to Zork is currently the No. 1 selling CD-ROM-based entertainment software title in their nationwide chain of stores.
 Return to Zork is targeted to a sophisticated audience that not only expects the highest level of challenge, but motion picture-quality production values as well. The production of Return to Zork required an unprecedented level of collaboration between the computer and entertainment industries.
