on a new consortium to streamline their international routes, with Aqaba
Container Terminal (ACT) featuring high on their agenda. Hapag-Lloyd is
one of the top five shipping companies in the world, which have been
serving Aqaba for many years. It has just started a new joint service
with Wan Hai to run a direct service from the Far East to the Red Sea
calling at Aqaba on a weekly basis, "The Consortium's choice
to call at ACT, starting last week, came to highlight strongly the new
international dimension and expertise ACT has secured for itself, a
reflection of its substantial investments, achievements and renowned
reputation in restructuring the Port activities and facilities to match
and showcase the company's newly acquired international

Chinese giant COSCO In a bid to strengthen ties, and get a first hand
knowledge of the new offerings of ACT, China Ocean Shipping Company
(COSCO), which held its regional meeting for its agents in the Middle
East and West Asia countries in Aqaba, paid a business visit to
ACT.ACT's chief officers received COSCO West Asia Regional Managing
Director Mr Zhao Wei and COSCO Deputy General Manager Mr Zhou Chuanxi.
"We are pleased to announce that COSCO is expanding its dealings
with ACT, and we shall remain posed to serve them," Junior said.
