ACPE welcomes: new officers and board members.

Three new ACPE members were elected to serve on the College's Board of Directors during ACPE's annual meeting at the Spring Institute in Orlando, Fla. Also, the new officers of the College were announced.

President

Stephen Schoenbaum, MD, MPH, CPE, FACPE

Schoenbaum is executive vice president for programs at The Commonwealth Fund and executive director of the Fund's Commission on a High Performance Health System. The Commonwealth Fund is a national foundation based in New York City that is devoted to improving coverage and access to health care and quality of care through its support of health services research and health policy analysis.

Vice President

Cynthia Sherry MD, MMM, FACR, CPE, FACPE

Sherry is president of Southwest Imaging and Interventional Specialists in Dallas, Texas, and co-owner and managing partner of Southwest Diagnostic Imaging Center. The center's primary hospital affiliation is Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas where Sherry served on the hospital board as president of the medical staff and chairman for the department of radiology.

Secretary/Treasurer

Harry L. Leider, MD, MBA, FACPE

Leider is the chief medical officer of XLHealth in Baltimore, Md., a rapidly growing national disease management company specializing in diabetes, heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and end stage renal disease.

New Board Member

Clair Callan MD, MBA, CPE, FACPE

Callan is CEO of Callan Consulting, a health care oriented consulting firm that focuses on quality and patient safety, and the use of health information technology in the clinical environment. The company also supports strategic planning efforts for a variety of clients and has developed leadership skills development programs for professional and not-for-profit organizations.

New Board Member

William K. Cors, MD, MMM, FACPE

Cors is the vice president of medical affairs at Good Samaritan Hospital, Bon Secours Charity Health System, in Suffern, New York. In addition, he serves as a senior consultant for The Greeley Company. For 11 years previously, he held VPMA positions at hospitals in New Jersey, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

New Board Member

Eugene Ogrod MD, JD, CPE, FACPE

Ogrod founded an IPA & multi-specialty group practice (Sutter Medical Group). He was a CMO in multi-specialty group in an integrated health system, medical director for health plans and CEO of the Oregon Medical Assoc. He was also CMO for Providence Medford Medical Ctr., and western regional medical director for Glaxo Smith Kline.
