ACME MARKETS TO SEND FOOD AND SUPPLIES TO VICTIMS OF HURRICANE ANDREW
 -- FRIDAY AT 11 A.M.; PRESS CONFERENCE AT 10:15 A.M.--
Acme Markets, Inc., in partnership with its vendors, will be sending three tractor-trailer loads of food and supplies to a warehouse in Florida for distribution to the victims of Hurricane Andrew.
The three brand-new Acme trucks and their drivers will depart from Acme's Distribution Center at 7th Street and Pattison Avenue in South Philadelphia on Friday, Sept. 4, at 11 a.m.
Acme, along with its many employees and vendors including the Scott Paper Company, Campbell Soup Company, Progresso and others, coordinated this program to participate in the massive national relief effort to donate food and supplies to South Florida victims of this devastating storm.
According to spokesperson Judy Spires, Acme's director of special marketing, a press conference is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. at the Acme Distribution Center -- prior to the trucks' departure.
Acme said it would appreciate the media's participation in and coverage of this effort.
