ACE director's transfer withdrawn.

MULTAN -- The provincial government withdrew on Wednesday the notification of the transfer of Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Multan Director Amjad Shoaib Tareen.

According to a notification by the orders of Chief Secretary Yousaf Naseem Khokhar, Mr Tareen was directed to report the Services and General Administration Department for his transfer order, issued on December 9, was cancelled.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (revenue) of Rajanpur Muhammad Afzal Nasir Khan was posted ACE director as replacement of Mr Tareen.

The development displeased ACE Director General Husain Asghar who met Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Tuesday and briefed him about the development. Mr Asghar also wrote to the S and GD Department that Mr Khan used political influence for the posting.

They said the chief minister was also informed that the transfer of Mr Tareen was a message to the department that it should not take action against influential corrupt elements.
