ACC ACQUIRES THIRD CANADIAN LONG-DISTANCE RESELLER
ROCHESTER, N.Y., Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- ACC Corp. (NASDAQ: ACCC)

announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, ACC Long Distance Ltd., ("ACC LD Ltd."), has purchased a retail long-distance telephone service customer base from a wholly owned subsidiary of ISM Information Systems Management Corporation ("ISM"). Revenues from this customer base are now approximately $20 million annually. Terms of the sale were not disclosed. This announcement was made today by Richard T. Aab, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of ACC Corp.
This customer base includes more than 5,000 customers in the provinces of Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia. This acquisition includes a customer base of small to medium sized business users along with certain equipment.
In commenting on the purchase, Aab stated, "This acquisition, our third in Canada and second in 10 days, is consistent with our strategy to expand throughout Canada via acquisitions that will complement and enhance our present, strong internal growth. We will continue to pursue other acquisition opportunities for the remainder of 1992 and throughout 1993."
 J. Gordon Garrett, chairman & CEO of ISM, commented on the sale, "While ISM has maintained service to an affiliated company's retail customer base, ISM's typical network management and outsourcing customers are major corporations and governments. I am pleased that a reputable firm such as ACC, which specializes in the provision of retail long distance telephone service, will now service and support this set of retail customers."
Thomas H. Davis, president of ACC LD Ltd., commented, "This acquisition further enhances our national position in Canada. With this acquisition, annualized revenues for our Canadian business should exceed $85 million and our customer base will grow to over 10,000 subscribers. This will expand our existing customer base in eastern Canada, and significantly increase our presence in British Columbia. We will bring to our newly acquired customers the expertise developed over the past 10 years in such areas as superior billing services and outstanding customer service."
