AC power main protection. (Special Report: Power Sources & Circuit Protection).

ProTek Devices has introduced the PAC Series, a bi-directional power line protector. The series is designed to protect OEM electronic equipment that interfaces with AC power mains against lightning and switching transients. These Avalanche Breakdown Diodes (ABD) use solid-state silicon-based technology and provide low clamping voltage characteristics. Their maximum peak pulse current exceeds 10,000A for an 8/20 ms waveform. Available from 90V AC to 240V AC, the PAC Series is offered in a radial package configuration with leads of 0.050" in diameter arranged on 0.79" to 0.934" centers. Samples are available on request. Pricing is $49.07 each for quantities of 1,000 pieces. ProTek Devices, 2929 S. Fair Lane, Tempe, AZ 85282; (602) 414-5107; Fax: (602) 431-2288; www.protekdevices.com.
