MULTAN -- Anti-corruption department is set to launch grand crackdown against unapproved residential colonies across the division.

Sources privy to the development said the action would be taken at massive scale this time across the division which consists of Multan, Vehari, Lodhran and Khanewal.

"This time we will put hands on big guns who are found guilty of selling bogus plots or running colonies without prior approval from authority concerned," it was said.

Sources added that millions of fines would be imposed on the 'fraudsters'. Cases would be registered against holders of unapproved colonies until they would clear their dues in given time frame.

Assistant Director Anti-corruption Malik Hassan told reporter that an inquiry against a big housing scheme in Vehari in the name of Sundar Village was already underway. He said notices had been served on their owners, and same procedure followed to the others who were operating unapproved colonies across the division.
