ABSOLUTE ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES AT '92 WCES STATE-OF-THE-ART
HOME VIDEO GAMES COMING TO AMERICAN HOMES THIS YEAR
GLEN ROCK, N.J., Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Award-winning home video game publisher Absolute Entertainment is starting off the new year with a flourish at the 1992 International Winter Consumer Electronics Show (WCES). The exposition, to be held in Las Vegas, Jan. 9-12, is known the world over as the premiere arena for the latest in cutting edge consumer technology, and New Jersey-based Absolute Entertainment, a Nintendo licensee, will be on hand to unveil its state-of-the-art 1992 line of games.
The much anticipated Super Nintendo Entertainment System(TM) (16- bit) games, Super Battletank: War in the Gulf(TM) and David Crane's Amazing Tennis(TM), will be previewed. Both titles have already been hailed within the industry as stunning breakthroughs in gaming power, graphics and sound.
For the most popular portable game system on the market, Nintendo's Game Boy(R), Absolute Entertainment announces Turn and Burn(TM), the first combat jet dogfight game on Game Boy, and Battletank II(TM), sequel to the best-selling Battletank(TM) (for the 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System, NES.)
The line-up of games for the NES includes: Race America(TM), a supercharged cross-country road race that features unique viewing perspectives; Space Shuttle Project(TM), praised by the U.S. Space & Rocket Center for its realism, and during which the player is assigned six top-priority missions based on actual U.S. space agency operations; and the action classic Battletank. These three excellent games attest to Absolute's commitment to the original -- and still-formidable -- Nintendo hardware.
All Absolute games are developed by sister company Imagineering Inc., the largest U.S.-based maker of games for the Nintendo systems. In addition to Absolute, Imagineering has created several hit titles for other Nintendo publishers, and is currently developing games for the Sega home video game systems.
Absolute and Imagineering executives will be available for comment and product demonstrations at WCES in the Las Vegas Convention Center, South Annex, Booth No. 6999.
