 ABP APPOINTS JOHN P. MORAN PRESIDENT OF VANIER SUBSIDIARY
 ATLANTA, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- American Business Products, Inc. (NYSE: ABP) today announced that John P. Moran has been appointed president of Vanier Business Forms and Services, a wholly owned ABP subsidiary located in Santee, Calif., a leading producer of business forms.
 Mr. Moran, who is 43 years of age, formerly was corporate vice president of Technology and Development for World Color Press, Inc., an $800 million printer of magazines, directories, catalogues, and inserts based in New York and owned by KKR.

"We anticipate that his efforts will result in improving all aspects of operations at Vanier, which faces the challenge of strong competition in the maturing business forms industry."
 Mr. Moran will assume his duties on Sept. 14, succeeding Dennis K. Vanier who left the position in July. Robert W. Gundeck ABP vice president of Corporate Development, has served as interim president of Vanier.
 In October 1980, Mr. Moran joined World Color Press Inc. as chief corporate engineer after experience with Burroughs Corporation (now Unisys) Business Forms Division and Judd and Detweiler. At Color World Press he advanced to divisional engineering-operations manager, vice president-regional manager and corporate vice president of operations prior to his being named corporate senior vice president-manufacturing, reporting to the president of the company in July 1990. He was promoted to corporate vice president of Technology and Development in February 1992.
 Mr. Moran received an A.S. in engineering science and an M.A. from Northern Essex College in Massachusetts in 1975. He received a BSME from the Sibley School of Mechanical Engineering, Cornell University in 1977. He is married and has two children.
 American Business Products, Inc. had record sales of $447 million and record earnings of $16.5 million in 1991 and has grown at a record pace in 1992. In addition to Vanier, ABP's operating companies and their products and services are Curtis 1000 Inc., envelopes, labels and business forms; BookCrafters USA Inc., book printing, binding and distributing; American Fiber Velope Manufacturing Company, specialty envelopes and filing systems; and Jen-Coat Inc., specialty extrusion coating and laminating of packaging. ABP is a joint venture partner with Curtis 1000 Europe GmbH, which produces and markets envelopes in Europe with facilities in Germany, England, Luxembourg and Poland.
