ABC RADIO NETWORKS ANNOUNCES INITIAL 29 STATIONS TO CARRY THE NEW, NATIONAL, SATELLITE 'TOM JOYNER MORNING SHOW'
'Fly Jock' Hosts First Syndicated Morning Show With Music DALLAS, Dec. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- ABC Radio Networks has locked in 29 U.S. radio stations including major markets to carry the new "Tom Joyner Morning Show," which premieres on Jan. 3, and is the country's first nationally syndicated urban morning program. Joyner, the No. 1 voice in black radio nationally known as the "Fly Jock," will host a five-hour mix of music (recorded and live), celebrity interviews, talk, comedy, sports and information. Joyner will be based in Dallas and his show will be carried cross-country by satellite. The number of stations committed to "The Tom Joyner Morning Show" exceeds any other syndicated morning radio program airing at present, announces ABC Radio Networks. More stations are also being added and will be revealed later. "The Tom Joyner Morning Show" will contain another first on U.S. radio today -- a house band, "Uncle Butchie's Live House," on-hand to accompany guests and provide music in and out of commercial breaks. The band will be headquartered in a Chicago studio.
